- ピオーネは巨峰の血を受け継ぎ、色は濃い紫から紫黒色で、粒が非常に大きく食べ応えがあるブドウです。
- 果粒は巨峰よりやや大きく、爽快な香気（マスカット）をもち、風味が大変いいです。
- 多汁で、糖度も１６度以上になり、強い甘さとそれを支える酸味を持っています。
- 最近は種無し栽培が盛んで、巨峰と並ぶ人気があります。
- 果皮は硬く、剥いたほうがいいでしょう。
- 粒の先端に薄く十字の切り込みをいれ、果頂部から剥くと綺麗に剥きやすいです。
